Hey Mama! So, you’re about to experience one of life’s most incredible journeys—giving birth! It’s a mix of excitement, nerves, and anticipation. Let’s go through what happens during labor, contractions, pushing, and meeting your little one for the first time.
What is Childbirth?
Childbirth is how your baby makes their grand entrance into the world. It’s divided into three stages: labor, delivery, and delivering the placenta (the afterbirth).
Stage 1: Labor
Early on, you might notice some signs like mild contractions that gradually get stronger. For me, it started with these funny feelings in my belly, like waves coming and going. As labor progresses, these contractions become more intense and regular.
Stage 2: Delivery
When it’s time to push, it’s all about bringing your baby closer to meeting you! This part is intense but so empowering. With each push, you’re getting closer to holding your little one in your arms.
Stage 3: Delivery of the Placenta
After your baby arrives, there’s still one more job for your body—delivering the placenta. It’s a quick and almost magical moment where your body finishes up its amazing work.
Pain Management
Let’s talk pain—yes, it’s real, but for the new creation woman, it’s totally different as stated in Isaiah 66:7. Nonetheless, there are lots of ways to manage it. Breathing exercises, positions that feel good, and sometimes medication can all help. For me, focusing on deep breaths and having my partner’s support made a huge difference.
After Childbirth
After all that hard work, it’s time to bond with your baby. Skin-to-skin contact is wonderful—it helps both of you feel calm and connected. And don’t worry about getting back to “normal” right away—take your time, rest, and let your body recover.
