Dear Woman, Learn to See the Best in People

People

One of the hardest things to deal with in life is people. Beautiful, complex, unpredictable humans with all our moods, emotions, weaknesses, and strengths. We want to love people, work with them, and build relationships that last, but sometimes, even the people we care about the most can disappoint us, misunderstand us, or test our patience.

We’ve all been there, friendships that faded because of hurtful words, family relationships that grew cold after misunderstandings, colleagues who made teamwork exhausting, or even church members who didn’t live up to what we expected. Somewhere between our desire for peace and our need to protect ourselves, we begin to pull away, building quiet walls around our hearts.

But the truth is, we are all flawed. Every one of us is learning, unlearning, and growing through something. People will fail you, not always because they want to, but because they’re human. Just like you, they have blind spots, insecurities, and limits. And sometimes, we also become “that person” to someone else, the one who didn’t meet their expectations.

Learning to see the best in people doesn’t mean ignoring their wrongs or pretending their actions didn’t hurt. It means choosing grace over bitterness. It means seeing the story behind the behavior, that tired mom who snapped at you might just be overwhelmed, that friend who became distant might be battling her own storm, that colleague who seems difficult might just be doing their best to stay afloat.

When you choose to see the best in others, you free yourself from the heavy weight of offense. You start to love from a place of understanding instead of disappointment. You stop keeping score and start keeping peace.

Dear woman, this world already has enough criticism, what it needs is compassion. The kind that looks beyond flaws and sees potential. The kind that gives room for growth, forgiveness, and grace.

So, the next time someone’s imperfection frustrates you, pause. Take a breath. And remind yourself, they’re human, just like you.

Because loving people isn’t about perfection, it’s about perspective.
